Christmas Ghost Stories
Thursday 10 December 2026, Llanthony Secunda Priory, Gloucester
For the Victorians, Christmas Eve was the night for ghost stories, told by the fire while the wind got up outside. We are reviving the tradition in one of Gloucester’s oldest buildings: the medieval priory of Llanthony Secunda, beside the docks.
Storyteller Tony Walker of Classic Ghost Stories will read three tales in the Victorian tradition, each in full, with an interval for the bar. The priory has ghosts of its own: read The Lady at the Gate and The Lovely Lady before you come.
The evening
- 6.45pm
- Doors open. Mulled wine and a mince pie, included in your ticket.
- 7.15pm
- The first tale.
- 8.00pm
- Interval. The bar is open.
- 8.20pm
- The second and third tales.
- 9.20pm
- The evening ends.
Tickets
Tickets are £21 and include mulled wine and a mince pie on arrival. There are 90 seats. The evening is for adults only (18 and over).
If you can’t come, you can transfer your ticket to someone else free of charge, but please don’t resell it for more than you paid. If the evening has to be postponed, your ticket will move to the new date, or you can ask for a refund.
